Easy to access watering hole that is clean and modern. It is not what I would call authentic, in that a tavern might be a place to meet your good friends for a Saturday night of drinking. However, Midtown tavern is large and close to hotels making it good for corporate events and travellers looking for a nearby bar. As a town-y, I prefer the downtown scene.
The buffalo wings were weird. They were sprinkled with blue cheese crumbles and came with buffalo sauce for dipping. Backwards?
I will definitely be back!
My personal favorite fish tacos in town. Most bartenders in my experience have been skilled at making balanced cocktails. Odd interior and menu, but still good!
As for main courses, beware of the popper stack burger, which was almost too hot too eat. Jalapenos are hot, yes, but this was intense. The fish and chips wasn't bad. It was cooked well with a decent portion size, but the mushy peas weren't mushy! They were just peas. I would have been offended had I been English.
We had a wonderful time here, there service was excellent, food was superb, and the staff was friendly.
This place seems to be a roll of the dice. Some things are good, but others aren't great.
The bar is great, though. Good selection of beers and a fantastic bloody ceasar.
Just not good. Overpriced.
The "large" pretzel is about the size of the palm of my hand, so not large by any sense of the word, but at least the price doesn't deceive. The Plank o' Fries, on the other hand, is almost too much. Only order that if you have a group of four or more (although my wife and I devoured it).
The burger
