AMAZING PEOPLE BUILDING ACOUSTIC GUITARS
We called them , was informed, quite rudely, that they do not give tours. They quit doing it 3 years ago.
I recently purchased a Gibson SJ-200 which had a problem with the pick guard. I called the factory and arranged with Ben Broyles (their warranty expert) to have it repaired. My wife and I were greeted warmly and Ben offered to give us a factory tour. Talk about a kid in a candy store; beautiful guitars being made everywhere and everywhere some craftsman doing his or her part of the start to finish magic that results in these amazing instruments. And best of all when Ben concluded our tour my guitar was ready to go.
No public tours. Or even a hey, can we just peak. Sad.
I had the opportunity to tour the factory and it was a great experience. Great guitars made by great people.
