Local Montana outdoor store. Great place! Priced well, good quality items, nice staff. Well managed place. Love it.
The two fellows that assisted me in the hiking/socks department knew their footwear! Totally agreeable shopping experience with good prices.
The only thing notable about this place is their local roots. When they first opened up as Bob Wards & Sons, things were much better. In recent years, selection, pricing, and staff knowledge all leaves something to be desired and better can be found on all counts in other area stores. Also, the store is typically messy and dirty, as though the whole place needs a good vacuuming.
My go-to spot for the best prices in town on good winter boots, bear spray, and summer sandals. Always worth pooping in when they're having a sale; you never know what treasures you'll find! Great selection, usually helpful staff, and competitive prices. Clothing-wise they don't always have what I'm looking for (in a price I'm willing to pay) and finding the specialty item I need can sometimes be a struggle with their rearranging each season but overall worth any hassle.
This place is getting back into the fly shop business. Great selection of flies and great price 12 for ten bucks. The guy at the counter was really helpful also.
Edit: Having been again recently, I have to say that the Bob Ward's team did step it up a notch, and I have adjusted my review to reflect that. It is a pleasure to keep business local!
